Software Test Center
At Volvo Cars Software Test Center we operate many test rigs and environments. We enable testing and quality assure our deliveries. To manage this, we both need a high level of automation, but we also need a high level of capability when it comes to rig fault tracing, testing and planning of usage.
Boxcar Engineer @ SWTC - Enabling Scalable Vehicle Software Integration & Testing
Mission: enable efficient validation and development of vehicle software by using modular, configurable “boxcar” environments to replicate vehicle systems outside the full vehicle.
What you'll do
-
Boxcar Setup & Integration
Build and configure boxcar rigs (ECUs, networks, power, simulation interfaces)
Integrate multiple vehicle domains into modular test environments -
System Integration
Validate interactions between ECUs, software components, and networks
Ensure correct configuration of vehicle variants and setups -
Testing & Verification
Support test organisations if needed when execute functional and integration tests in boxcar environments
Support early system verification before full vehicle availability -
Automation & Tooling
Working with rig environment framework and automated test and configuration workflows from rig perspective.
Enable repeatable and scalable test setups -
Troubleshooting
Diagnose integration issues across hardware, software, and communication layers
What you'll bring
- ECU integration & vehicle architecture understanding
- CAN, LIN, Ethernet communication
- Tools: Vector (CANoe/CANalyzer), dSPACE, etc.
