MMI1020H Big Data Analysis
This course introduces students to the art and science of data analysis and provides a set of statistical and econometric tools that are useful in managerial decision making. The primary focus of this course is on causal analysis. Topics include, but are not limited to: Probability Distributions, Hypothesis Testing, Linear Regressions, Propensity Score Matching, Binary Dependent Variables, Basic Machine Learning. Applications include, but are not limited to: Inventory Management,Assessment of a Marketing Campaign, Demand Estimation, Hospital Management, Investment Management.
Description of Duties:
Preferably a PhD student in Economics, in Marketing, or in Strategic Management with a research interest in applied microeconomic theory or a suitable qualified graduate student.
Class Schedule: Tuesdays, 11:00 am - 01:00 pm
Sessional date of appointment: September 1, 2026 - December 31, 2026
Salary:
The minimum hourly rate shall be: September 1, 2026 $55.25 (plus vacation rate)
